Buckeye Mountain and Trimble Partner to Bring Mobile Computing, GPS and AEI Tag to Railways

NIWOT, Colo., Sept. 13, 2016 — (PRNewswire) —  Buckeye Mountain and Trimble have been working together in an effort to provide the railroad industry with products that meet their specific needs for mobile computers, AEI (railcar automatic equipment identification tags) and GPS.

Trimble's Juno® T41 R-AEI, an all-in-one rugged AEI reader, is a compatible platform for Buckeye Mountain's AEI Quick Read application, a simple and basic mobile application that reads AEI tags. Trimble has the unique capability to deliver innovative AEI solutions that meet railroad requirements via an all-in-one mobile device and tethered USB readers.  The USB Pro is an extension of this capability that enables existing mobile devices to read AEI tags via a USB connection.

Buckeye Mountain also works closely with Trimble to provide the railroad industry with advances in GPS solutions such as the Trimble PG200™ GNSS receiver. The PG200 is a rugged, lightweight and portable GNSS receiver to use in rail and intermodal yards to identify safety zones and includes auto tracking on critical assets, all at a low cost.

For more than 15 years, Buckeye Mountain has been dedicated to providing the railroad industry with a broad range of solutions to implement and manage innovative technology, including rugged hardware, customized software and wireless network infrastructure. Buckeye Mountain and Trimble are focused on providing the solutions that enable railroads to operate easier, safer and more efficiently.

"The Trimble T41 is an exciting new product that the industry has been waiting for.  The T41 is a single, handheld computer and AEI reader that provides best-in-class on the market today.  This solution keeps the workers the required safety distance from the railcars while the read range is very responsive."  – Matthew Hunter, Principle Sales, Buckeye Mountain

"Buckeye Mountain has been working with Trimble for many years and we share a commitment to provide innovative rail solutions that fit this unique market.  We are excited about these solutions and our continued relationship." – Greg Dunnell, Principle Business Development, Buckeye Mountain

"Trimble's focus for the rail industry is to provide solutions that drive agility, improve efficiency and safety, and provide better visibility into operations to maximize productivity. Our broad range of rail solutions, combined with Buckeye Mountain's mobile application, can provide the flexibility, connectivity and real-time business intelligence for AEI tracking and asset management." - Jim Sheldon, General Manager of Trimble's Mobile Computing Solutions Division
