Aylesbury, February 15th, 2011 - Esri UK, the country’s leading provider of geographic information systems (GIS) technology, has appointed three new General Managers to lead three of the company’s strategic business practices.
Stephen Leece becomes General Manager for the Local and Central Government practice. Stephen brings extensive senior level experience of working in the Government sector, having previously worked with Accenture on a number of significant Government projects. He has also worked with Swiss Post, QinetiQ, Raytheon and LexisNexis International.
Peter Mingins becomes General Manager for the Utilities and Telecoms practice, an area of highly anticipated growth for GIS and Esri UK. Peter started his career in GIS and cartography with Intergraph, Lancaster University and HP Consulting. He joins Esri UK from HCL Technologies where he was responsible for GIS propositions and technologies for utilities across Europe.
The third senior appointment sees Amanda Turner join Esri UK as General Manager for the Commercial practice. Amanda’s previous role as Strategy Director for QinetiQ saw her deliver a revolutionary solution for Clark’s Shoes involving the 3D measurement of children’s feet. Amanda also worked with the CBI on a major study of innovation in industry and has previous experience of working in the oil industry, in both the UK and US.
"All three candidates bring exceptional commercial and domain specific experience to Esri UK, which will further strengthen our ability to meet the specific needs of our customers in these core markets," commented Richard Waite, Managing Director of Esri UK. "Esri’s powerful GIS solutions are more relevant than ever - for all organisations, be they governmental or private sector - and I am confident these three appointments will help drive the adoption of GIS into a new era of growth."
Richard confirmed that Esri UK is looking to appoint a fourth General Manager for its Defence, National Security and Public Safety practice.
