OpenGeo Announces Open Source Geospatial Training Series

January 25, 2010 — OpenGeo recently released an extensive schedule of OpenGeo Suite software training courses for 2010. OpenGeo engineers will provide training on popular open source geospatial components including GeoServer, OpenLayers and PostGIS, as well as review courses on the new, integrated OpenGeo Suite. Training is available at OpenGeo's new training facility in downtown Manhattan..

"Our goal is to provide the kind of high quality, professional training offered by the best proprietary software companies," said Chris Holmes, President of OpenGeo. "We're offering discounts to government agencies and academics, in an effort to make our training widely accessible. With the new administration's focus on open data and an increased cost consciousness in organizations across the board, our open source geospatial software is being used more than ever. We're proud to be offering training that will help users get the most out of the software."

The OpenGeo Suite is comprised of tested, integrated and supported versions of the geospatial components GeoServer, OpenLayers, GeoWebCache, PostGIS and GeoExt.
