1Spatial and RMSI collaborate at Map India 2010

January 15, 2010 -- 1Spatial is pleased to announce their involvement in Map India 2010 through RMSI, to present a co-authored paper entitled SDI considerations: a European perspective has been accepted for this prestigious international conference.

This paper will be drawing parallels between activities in Europe and India and describes 1Spatial's involvement in the European Spatial Data Infrastructure best practice Network (ESDIN) project. The paper will also outline some activities underway relating to INSPIRE transformation network services; this follows 1Spatial's recent contract award to provide technical guidance to the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.

RMSI and 1Spatial have worked together successfully in Europe on spatial information infrastructure, for example on the multiple award-winning project at Property Registration Authority Ireland. 1Spatial built the Digital Mapping System and RMSI along with Landmark Information Group, UK, provided data conversion and capture services for loading into the system.  This required 1Spatial and RMSI to work closely together to specify the data quality standards and ensure that converted data was compliant and fit for purpose.

Map India 2010 is organised and managed by GIS Development and a number of leading industry figures from India. It takes place from 19th January to 21st January 2010 at the Epicentre in Gurgaon, Haryana in India. Our presentation is scheduled for Thursday 21st January 2010 at 2:30pm.

Vikrant Karandikar, General Manager (Business Development) at RMSI will make the presentation on behalf of the joint authors(1). He states,

Our success in execution of Indian projects along with our experience in European projects and more recently in joint collaboration with 1Spatial has helped us attain a position wherein we understand the demands and local nuances of both the Indian and European markets well. We hope to share the benefit of this experience with the conference attendees and provide inputs to the Indian NSDI
