Meridian Systems Releases Proliance 4.0 for Large Enterprises Managing Large Capital Building Programs

Leading Infrastructure Lifecycle Management Software Updated With Customer-Driven Enhancements, Microsoft Outlook Integration, and Enhanced Security Capabilities

FOLSOM, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — December 8, 2009 — Meridian Systems, the Plan-Build-Operate technology solutions leader for project-based organizations, announced today the release of Proliance® software version 4.0. Providing infrastructure lifecycle management (ILM) capabilities to companies managing large capital building programs, Proliance 4.0 incorporates customer-driven enhancements, streamlined integration with Microsoft Outlook, and additional security enhancements for public sector agencies.

Customer-Driven

“Proliance 4.0 incorporates many enhancement requests from our customers who have extensive experience in managing large construction programs,” said Steve Schneider, director of product marketing, Meridian Systems. “Our customers are dynamic organizations within various market segments including the federal government, global entertainment, and global Engineering & Construction. These customers have very sophisticated needs including scalable performance, flexible workflow, and robust configuration and security capabilities.”

Proliance 4.0 improves the planning and management of capital projects with these new enhancements:

Integration to Microsoft Outlook

Meridian also announced the release of Proliance Navigator 4.0, an updated software interface which streamlines how Proliance users capture and collaborate on construction project data right from Microsoft Outlook. Proliance users can leverage their email to automatically create Proliance records, and interact directly with Proliance workflow and other capabilities. For example, Proliance users can leverage Outlook’s Search, Filters, Flagging and Grouping capabilities to provide enhanced access to Proliance data. Users can also capture project email and attachments directly into Proliance correspondence documents, ensuring critical project information is not lost. Proliance Navigator helps to ensure user adoption by reducing project team training and ramp-up.

Support for Public Agencies

As a result of its work with public sector agencies, including the GSA Public Building Service, Miami Dade County and others, Meridian has enhanced Proliance’s capabilities to support strict security requirements such as single sign-on. For example, single sign-on security provides customers with improved usability and security within their own IT environment.

Another key usability enhancement to Proliance 4.0 is Section 508 Compliance. This is a government driven requirement to provide user interface access to persons with disabilities. Users have access to helpful features such as keyword navigation (hotkeys, tabbing), image tooltips (alternative text), enhanced navigation links, electronic forms, alternative color coding, and an enhanced help system.

Proliance uniquely combines project and portfolio management, facilities management, business workflow and business analytics into one system of record, enabling large enterprises to track how their real estate, construction and facilities portfolios are performing.
