SAN JOSE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—January 16, 2007— FSA, the global voice of the fabless business model, announces its System-in-Package (SiP) Conference taking place January 23-24 at the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose, Calif. With the theme "Navigating SiP in the Fabless Environment," the conference will feature a robust program addressing all aspects of SiP.

The event will bring together the semiconductor supply chain to articulate challenges and opportunities for a variety of markets and products using SiP technologies. The program is designed to accommodate semiconductor industry professionals at all knowledge levels of SiP. It will feature keynotes, panel discussions, presentations, business and technical tutorials, as well as networking opportunities.

-- "SiP Approach in Samsung" - Jason Cho, vice president of interconnect product and technology, Samsung Electronics

Tutorials will be available to attendees who would like to increase their SiP knowledge. Topics include:

-- SiP drivers, applications and issues

-- SiP co-design flow / modeling and simulation

-- 3D integration at the wafer level

-- Design for test in the SiP environment

FSA is hosting this conference because of the interest generated from its SiP Market and Patent Map Analysis released in August 2006.

"SiP is on its way to becoming the solution for many sectors of the semiconductor industry, and the complexity of SiP technologies requires cooperation along the supply chain," said Vivian Pangburn, vice president, global marketing and membership at FSA. "Our goals are to host an industry-wide forum to discuss the future of SiP, including requirements and roadmaps, as well as to form a consensus on best practices, test strategies and methodologies."

Event sponsors include Ansoft Corporation; ASE Group and Cadence Design Systems, Inc.
