The puzzle is almost completed, and it creates a fabulous picture - the advanced programme of the 27th edition of the Design, Automation and Test in Europe conference, DATE 2024. The top scientific event in Design, Automation and Test of microelectronics and embedded systems for the academic and industrial research communities worldwide takes us to sunny Valencia, Spain, from 25 to 27 March 2024.

DATE 2024 adopts the renewed format that was introduced in 2023. This means that DATE 2024 again uses an intensive three-day format, focussing on interaction as well as further strengthening the community. The vast majority of regular papers will be presented in technical sessions using short flash-presentations, where the emphasis is on poster-supported live interactions (in addition to the common full-length presentation videos available before, during and after the conference). By this, we make sure that the community can actually do what conferences are for: meeting, discussing and exchanging!

Programme Highlights

The traditional Opening Ceremony already features two outstanding keynotes - Robert Dimond (ARM, UK) and Luc Augustin (SMART Photonics, NL). Afterwards, all programme facets of DATE 2024 fan out with various sets of sessions that focus on emerging topics bringing new challenges to the community.

DATE 2024’s special days bring into focus “Responsible and Robust AI” as well as “Sustainable Computing”, alongside the traditional special initiative on Autonomous Systems Design. In line with this, DATE 2024 continues to present outstanding lunchtime keynote presentations, given by Hai (Helen) Li (Duke University, US), Ayse Coskun (Boston University, US) and Francisco Herrara (University of Granada, ES) as well as the embedded keynote by Edward Lee (UC Berkeley, US).

During the DATE technical sessions, matters from the four different areas:

D Design Methods & Tools
AApplication Design
TTest & Dependability
E Embedded Systems Design

as well as late breaking results are discussed interactively which engage exchange and discussion between presenters and audience. Additionally, Multi-Partner Projects find a platform to discuss their lessons learned and Focus Sessions further address trends in technical domains.

Four embedded tutorials, that provide delegates with an introduction to significant DATE technical areas and design automation tools, as well as eight half-day workshops, that open up further insights in trending topics and emerging issues in design, test, software and EDA, further complement what DATE 2024 has to offer its audience. During the Unplugged Sessions, participants can unplug themselves from all technology and brainstorm ideas and visions about the future of digital engineering.

The younger generation of participants may find and strengthen their link to the DATE community during the various parts of the Young People Programme, including the Careers Fairs – Industry & Academia, the University Fair, the Student Teams Fair as well as the PhD Forum.
