BI2021 Resilience Sessions to Cover Infrastructure, Building Codes, Climate Injustice and Sustainability

The NIBS virtual meeting will feature nearly 30 sessions over three days

(WASHINGTON, DC, August 26, 2021) – Resilience will take on many forms during the Building Innovation 2021: Virtual Edition meeting of the National Institute of Building Sciences.

BI2021 takes place September 27-29, 2021. The NIBS annual meeting allows everyone who impacts the built environment to discuss challenges and find solutions. In addition to resilience, BI2021 will include two other tracks: workplace and technology.

“Resiliency is what we all strive for in the built environment,” said Lakisha A. Woods, CAE, President and CEO of NIBS. “BI2021 attendees will have a front row seat to innovative solutions around resilience, health and sustainability.”

Resilience session highlights include:

Building Innovation keynote speakers will include Renee Cheng, Dean, University of Washington College of Built Environments; Edward Mazria, FAIA, Founder & CEO, Architecture 2030; Daniel Kaniewski, Managing Director, Public Sector, Marsh McLennan Advantage; Jamie Gentoso, P.E., MBA, Global Head of Solutions & Products Business Unit, Holcim; and Thomas W. Smith, III, ENV SP, CAE, F.ASCE, Executive Director, American Society of Civil Engineers.
