Maxar Voted Top Workplace for Third Year in a Row By Tony Frazier, Executive Vice President of Global Field Operations

April 05, 2019 -- Today, Radiant Solutions, which was unified under the Maxar brand in February, was named one of the top places to work in the Tampa Bay area for the third consecutive year. The award, which was presented to Maxar by the Tampa Bay Times, is based on survey responses from more than 40,000 employees asked to rate workplace culture across seven areas, including company values, effectiveness, connection to employees and leadership. Only 100 workplaces scored high enough to earn recognition on the Top Workplaces list.

Maxar’s Tampa team used its Signature Analyst tool to predict incidences of cartel-related violence in the Reynosa, Mexico municipal area.

We are thrilled to have once again secured our place among the best workplaces in Tampa. Maxar strives to offer our team members an environment in which they feel empowered to do the best, most challenging and exciting work of their careers and engage on meaningful issues that fulfill our purpose to build a better world. One of the ways we deliver on this purpose is by unlocking actionable intelligence through cutting-edge geospatial solutions, including advanced computing, artificial intelligence, crowdsourcing platforms and machine learning. Every day, government and commercial customers count on us to help keep our nation safe, protect critical infrastructure and preserve scarce natural resources.

Maxar’s rMaps dataset provides enriched human landscape data and incredibly detailed information on city roads, structures, and other land features.

Maxar’s Tampa team regularly contributes information and analysis to support humanitarian endeavors, including polio eradication, exposure of slavery and genocide and the disruption of global smuggling routes. As part of this effort, the team produces a monthly periodical called  Spotlight, which is designed to offer visual truth and analysis on unfolding global events to drive social good and global transparency. In a  recent issue, the team helped to identify how illegal fishing in the Pacific was impacting the sustainability of fisheries and the livelihoods of local communities that are dependent on fishing as a source of food and income. Their analysis concluded that there is a critical need for improved illegal and unregulated fishing monitoring and enforcement in the Southeast Pacific, where fishing stocks are drastically depleted because of increased consumption and illegal fishing profitability.

In 2019, we hit the ground running by simplifying our organization and enhancing our leadership structure. In February, we announced that the four independent business units under Maxar were restructured to become one Maxar. This new, unified organization unlocks strategic growth across the business, strengthens customer intimacy and provides greater focus and alignment so that we can better discern and more quickly deliver the solutions our customers need. In my new role at Maxar, I lead Global Field Operations, with responsibility for all sales, business development, account management and service delivery across our combined national security and commercial customer base.

Being voted one of the best companies to work for three years in a row is a powerful demonstration of our commitment to providing our team members with exciting and meaningful career paths. Now, with all of Maxar together under one roof, we are enhancing our geospatial offerings and realizing new ways of helping our customers make better decisions and keep our nation safe.

Interested in helping us build a better world? We are always looking for the best and brightest talent to join our team. Discover your next adventure on our  career page.
