Professional PLM Steering Group discussion expands to 22 participants - invites more

Oxford, England. November 23 2018 -- There are now 22 organisations from 6 countries taking part in the discussions to form a Steering Group for the Professional PLM Initiative.

These include major corporations from America and Europe, integrators from India, and one of the major PLM vendors, all deciding how the Steering Group will drive and direct the 2019 program.

The aim of the Initiative is to establish a recognised Professional Body for PLM by the end of 2020. With an estimated 50000 PLM practitioners worldwide, the Professional Body will need to be for the whole industry. The Steering Group is fundamental to achieving this.

The process of forming the Steering Group is entirely open, and more participants are invited to join the debate. There is no obligation at this point, and being part of the discussions is the best way to see what is happening.

Information on how to do so can be found on the  PLMIG web site, or via steering@plmig.com.

About the PLM Interest Group
The PLMIG was formed in 2004, during which time it has produced neutral methodologies for PLM activities ranging from Benchmarking to Financial Performance. Over the past 12 months the PLMIG has provided the platform to set up the Professional PLM Initiative, which aims to establish a single, worldwide profession for PLM practitioners.
