SprintRay 3D Printers Now Supported in 3Shape Implant Studio for Surgical Guide Production

Efficient workflow enables dental professionals to affordably produce precise oral surgical guides.

LOS ANGELES — (BUSINESS WIRE) — April 4, 2018 — SprintRay today announced full integration with 3Shape’s Implant Studio software used by dental professionals to digitally plan implant procedures. SprintRay’s 3D printers now enable professionals using 3Shape Implant Studio to 3D print designed surgical guides for dental implant surgery. The guides can be printed in less than an hour using SprintRay’s flagship MoonRay high-resolution 3D printer and biocompatible surgical guide resin.

“We are excited to add another outstanding and reliable solution to the ever-growing ecosystem of open treatment and manufacturing options available to 3Shape customers,” said Birk Ploennigs, 3Shape Product Director Implantology. “The professionals we speak with prefer to use surgical guides in their implant procedures. The integration with SprintRay gives them an affordable and dependable manufacturing option.”

3Shape’s Implant Studio software merges cone beam computed tomography and surface scans to provide a comprehensive view of a patient’s clinical situation. This enables professionals to prosthetically plan, as well as design, restorative elements used in the implant procedure; in addition to designing and producing surgical guides.

“This integration between 3Shape Implant Studio and SprintRay gives dental professionals a new expansive set of tools,” said Amir Mansouri, CEO of SprintRay. “By printing surgical guides in-office doctors can be more responsive to their patients’ needs and gain full control over their treatment plan.”

SprintRay’s high-resolution 3D printers can also be used to print a wide-selection of other oral appliances such as dental models, nightguards, retainers, crowns, denture bases, and indirect bonding trays. SprintRay’s hardware, software, and materials work together to deliver optimal accuracy, efficiency, and ease-of-use for the dental industry.
