AIA|DC Emerging Architects Committee and PriceModern team up for a multidisciplinary product design competition

WASHINGTON, Oct. 14, 2016 — (PRNewswire) —

WASHINGTON, Oct. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- For the second consecutive year, the AIA|DC Emerging Architects Committee (AIA|DC EAC) has partnered with PriceModern a national furniture solutions dealer, to announce our RE-Form 2.0 – RE Skin product design competition. RE-Form 2.0 pursues to Competition's main goal is to bring the different design disciplines together through an industry-wide design competition that seeks to provoke dialogue within our design communities. The design competition was launched through AIA|DC EAC's online platforms, with the deadline for entries extended to October 21st 2016. Award winners will be announced at a cocktail reception event at Gensler's DC office on November 7th, 2016

RE-Form particularly focuses on emerging design professionals by encouraging them to express themselves in a competition that offers opportunities to engage with other professionals, network within the community and showcase their unique point of view.  AIA|DC EAC believes that,"Experiences are intrinsically composed by the tangible and intangible architectures that trigger the senses. It is through this delicate exchange of sensorial information that we create lasting impressions from space, objects and interactions".

AIA|DC EAC & PriceModern invite design thinkers to propose an innovative "skin" in which humans could interact with their surrounding environments and everyday activities through the different intertwined senses. The proposed "skin"/ product could be at any scale and serve any function that the designer envisions. The competition is open to any designer within the United States and its territories, with the requirement that they be available to attended the Awards reception in Washington, DC.

Award Categories: Student/ Associate Member, Young Professional (10-yrs of Experience or less).

Award Prizes include: A cash prize of $1,000, tour of a furniture designer's studio, select furniture pieces, gift cards, amongst others.
