AGNITY and Radisys Offer Service Providers Virtualized Multimedia Communication Solutions for Easy NFV Deployment

Joint pre-integrated solutions are being showcased at Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona

SILICON VALLEY, Calif. & HILLSBORO, Ore. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 26, 2015AGNITY, a leading provider of application infrastructure to Service Providers, and Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), the services acceleration company, have introduced a virtualized interactive communications service platform for broadband mobile networks. Together, the companies have announced that AGNITY’s virtualized Communications Application Server solution and Multi Media Conferencing application are now available pre-integrated with Radisys’ MediaEngine™ virtualized Media Resource Function (vMRF). The joint solution facilitates easy integration and validation of mobile interactive telecommunication services in a SaaS business model for Service Provider customers. The pre-integrated solution will be demonstrated at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, March 2-5.

AGNITY’s ACONYX Communication Application Server (CAS) is a carrier-grade Application Server, built from the ground up and supporting multiple network protocol interfaces (SS7, IP, IMS and LTE), that enables carriers to harmonize applications across legacy and next-generation networks. AGNITY’s virtualized CAS is built on open standard specifications and leverages Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) architecture for deployments on cloud-based infrastructure. Applications like Mobile Multimedia Conferencing (MMC) built on CAS enable mobile Service Providers to offer their enterprise customers mobile communication and collaboration capabilities directly from their IMS core. The end user experience is delivered through smartphone apps and WebRTC-powered portal on PCs.

“The explosion of video-enabled smartphones, tablets and WebRTC enabled browsers is changing the landscape for multimedia communications and tearing down traditional barriers to the widespread adoption of visual communication services. We are pleased that AGNITY continues to depend on Radisys’ media processing technology for its new multimedia conferencing solution,” said Grant Henderson, vice president of the MediaEngine product line and Corporate Marketing at Radisys. “AGNITY is an important member of our OneMRF application ecosystem which helps communication service providers drive cost out of their networks and accelerate new service introduction. Our MediaEngine portfolio provides partners like AGNITY and our joint customers a single standards-based media processing platform capable of concurrently supporting many communication services from multiple vendors. AGNITY’s offerings are another proof point of our open, vendor agnostic OneMRF strategy.”

“Today, mobile operators worldwide have made massive investments in LTE infrastructure, and now they are figuring out ways to monetize them effectively based on the capabilities of the network and devices – a huge advantage that operators have over OTT competitors,” said Sanjeev Chawla, President & CEO of AGNITY. “AGNITY’s solution empowers Service Providers to monetize their network investments by offering mobile multimedia communication services. The enablement of a SaaS model helps them scale as needed without taking excessive risk. With AGNITY MMC solution, Service Providers can compete with OTT players and offer a much better conferencing quality and performance by providing end-to-end QoS on superior LTE bandwidth.”

The joint solution will be showcased in Radisys’ Stand 5I61, Hall 5, at Mobile World Congress, March 2-5 in Barcelona. To meet with Radisys’ MediaEngine experts, contact info@radisys.com. To meet with AGNITY, contact info@agnity.com.
