The new QuantiPhi™ Renesas Edition driver generation tool provides a remarkably easy tool to 1) Configure the complete MCU registers, peripherals, and general I/O function; 2) Perform automatic self-check to make sure there are no internal MCU conflicts with any of the settings; 3) Generate MISRA compliant C code; and 4) Easily integrate Simulink blocksets for model-based development.
Pricing and Availability
Samples of Renesas Electronics' new RL78/F13 and RL78/F14 MCUs are available now. The RL78/F13 MCUs are available with 16 to 128 kilobytes (KB) flash memory capacities and 20- to 80-pin-count packages. For the RL78/F14 MCUs, memory capacities range from 48 to 256 KB flash, with packages ranging from 30 to 100 pins, and up to 20 KB RAM. Pricing varies depending on memory capacity and pin count. For example, the RL78/F14 MCU with 128 KB flash and a 48-pin package is priced at US$6.00 per unit in sample quantities. Mass production is scheduled to begin in March 2015 and is expected to reach a combined volume of 2,500,000 units per month by September 2015.
