OCHO Inc. Enters Final Week of Pre-order Campaign Inches from Final Goal

Backers have until Friday, April 25 to pre-order the OCHO Pad, OCHO Mini or Software Development Kit

22 Apr 2014 --- The OCHO Pad has entered its final days on Kickstarter. With just over $3,000 to go in order to ensure production, this project is on the cusp of promising delivery to the large group of backers who have pledged support for the project. The NFC Smart Key Tray pushes notifications about the status of ordinary items, helping users to easily keep tabs on everyday tasks, appointments and items.

“Throughout the campaign, we’ve generated quite a bit of dialogue from our backers and we’ve learned a lot,” said Donatus Leung, Lead Hardware Designer. “We’re excited for the finale of the campaign, and we can’t wait to create the first round of production for this device. We’re not far from our goal at all, and I am confident that we’re going to hit it very soon.”

The technology in the OCHO Pad is usable for every demographic – it’s not just for the technologically minded, nor is it just for the average person. Essentially, it creates a digital picture around an individual or a household’s activity, through basic items such as smartphones, keys, or wallets. To cater to both the professional technologist as well as the average technology hobbyist, OCHO offers the easy-to-use product as well as the Software Development Kit (SDK) for those interested in the future of this technology.

“We’re all technology guys, but we realized that we were consistently forgetting the most basic tasks or forgetting to check in on certain things at the proper times,” Anthony Garvan, Lead Software Designer. “We created OCHO technology because ourselves, our families and our loved ones will truly benefit from the automated reminders and notifications it provides. Technology is all about making life easier, and we believe OCHO does this infinitely. Providing the SDK to backers just gives more people the opportunity to build on a great thing.”

The way OCHO technology works is simple to understand, but the uses are many. Using NFC tags, infrared sensors, and smart USB ports, the OCHO Pad connects the everyday things people rely on most to the notifications that help them better organize their time. For example, if a user places an OCHO Tag on his or her car keys, the OCHO can be set to push a reminder to that user’s smartphone as soon as the car keys hit the OCHO Pad. It can be used to set self reminders or push reminders to loved ones in the nick of time. That’s just the surface, though. OCHO Technology can push reminders to multiple smartphones reminding a user to place a phone on charge for the night or even automatically letting a parent know when his or her teenager has arrived home.

The OCHO App is easy to use and makes it simple for users to set their notifications around certain items. From the app users can view recent activity around any OCHO Tag and set specific rules triggered by specific events. Look at the recent activity on your keys and see what times you’ve gotten home all week or what times you’ve been leaving for work throughout the week. Messages can be sent by email or push notification, or sent to the OCHO Pad display.

OCHO is only available for pre-order until Friday, April 25, so time is running out. Early bird pricing on both the OCHO Pad and the OCHO Mini is still available to backers. The exclusive Software Developers Kit (SDK) is also still up for grabs. Early bird pricing begins at $38 for the OCHO Mini and $68 for the OCHO Pad. SDKs are only $888 for early access to the software. To see more information about OCHO or to back the project on Kickstarter, visit http://bit.ly/OCHOPadKS.
