MDA to provide prototype mobile information solution for US Army

RICHMOND, BC, Feb. 11, 2013 — (PRNewswire) —

RICHMOND, BC, Feb. 11, 2013 /CNW/ - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. ("MDA" or the "Company") ( TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions, announced today that it has signed a contract valued at US$4.3 million with OGSystems (OGS) to develop a prototype surveillance solution for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Army Geospatial Center (AGC). MDA will develop a very small, mobile ground station that can be rapidly deployed to any area of interest around the world to receive and process imagery from multiple commercial satellites.

Leveraging the Company's ground station expertise, along with a previous demonstration system provided to the AGC in September 2010, MDA's solution will include a streamlined user interface  and compatibility with secure communications and computing environments.
