TomTom Passes Landmark Milestone as Corporate Fleet Businesses Increasingly Choose TomTom Fleet Management

AMSTERDAM — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 29, 2012 — TomTom has passed the 200,000 milestone for vehicles managed in its online fleet management system WEBFLEET®, optimising the road operations for more than 16,500 businesses.

The milestone follows sustained growth throughout the first quarter of 2012, with TomTom’s install base increasing by 36% (year-on-year Q1 2011/ Q1 2012).

"We are continuing our efforts to strengthen our leadership position through organic growth, taking advantage of our legacy-free WEBFLEET platform," said Thomas Schmidt, Managing Director TomTom Business Solutions.

"I am delighted to see a growing number of large corporate companies choosing TomTom as their preferred supplier. Our advanced off-the-shelf solution, offering a wealth of functionality, has a proven track record of delivering swift returns for fleets of all sizes due to the speed and ease of its implementation.”

New TomTom customers include Douwe Egberts in the Netherlands and Clarkson Evans in the UK.

Leading coffee manufacturer Douwe Egberts has enlisted TomTom to help improve its business efficiency and better manage its vehicle fleet. The Utrecht-based firm has implemented TomTom’s integrated tracking and navigation solution across 195 light commercial vehicles and cars after being impressed by its capabilities throughout an extensive trial period.

“The trial demonstrated a clear return on investment with respect to optimized planning, working hours and efficiency. We became convinced of the benefits TomTom could offer to help boost Douwe Egberts’ productivity,” said Huub Segers, Director Service Operations, Douwe Egberts.

Electrical contractor Clarkson Evans recently deployed TomTom fleet management across its UK fleet of 160 vans.

“We were able to rapidly introduce TomTom technology across our fleet without the need for lengthy development or use of a complex, customised solution,” said Catherine Mason, Operations Manager at Clarkson Evans.

“We have therefore enjoyed a number of immediate operational benefits and look forward to further efficiency gains in the coming months.”
