Windwave Communications To Install Express Solution (3-GIS)

Decatur, AL – January 31, 2011– 3-GIS, an Alabama based software development and services company, has announced that Windwave Communications will install the 3-GIS Express Solution, a full edit engineering GIS suite, to manage their fiber network.

Windwave Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of Inland Development Corporation, provides Fiber Backhaul solutions, Ethernet services (via Fiber) and Internet Services to Eastern Oregon.  Their primary customers are businesses, hospitals, and schools in remote rural areas that would normally not be serviced in this fashion.  Windwave selected the Express Solution to help manage their existing corporate assets and capture new data in real time. Windwave further believed in 3-GIS’s ability to meet their business needs and work with them in a flexible proactive way.

Windwave selected the Express Solution because of its ability to merge GIS capabilities with a network management tool.  The Express Solution consists of Network Express, a web based editing tool; and Field Express, a mobile application.  Network Express is known for its thin-client capabilities, easy to adopt user interface and for the specific tool sets for telecommunications.  The solution will allow Windwave to manage their complete network infrastructure which includes: structures, cables, splices and equipment.  They will also utilize the 3-GIS mobile application, Field Express Chameleon, which allows all field personnel to collect and update information in the field.  The Express Solution provides a full view of the network, providing Windwave the ability to make informed decisions.

“The 3-GIS Express Solution will allow Windwave to easily plan, design and manage our network all with one simple suite,” says Erik McVay, Windwave Communications Network Engineer.  “We researched other GIS Telecom technologies and found that 3-GIS offered the most up to date group of products for our needs.”

Burl Rowland, Executive Sales Consultant for 3-GIS, says “Our new and growing relationship with Windwave demonstrates our commitment to provide to the most advanced technology on the market.  3-GIS is very happy to welcome Windwave to our team of users.”
