October 18, 2010 -
WorkNC is the most used CAM software by Japanese die and moldmakers according to a survey ran by the Nikkan Kogyo newspaper. Its developer,
Sescoi, will be demonstrating
the advantages of WorkNC at JIMTOF 2010, and presenting two other productivity solutions, WorkXPlore 3D, a high speed 3D CAD viewer, and NCspeed V6.2, toolpath optimization software.
In collaboration with OSG Corporation and Mori Seiki Co.Ltd, Sescoi will also be running
two free seminars on 3-axis and 5-axis best practice machining. These will be held in the conference building at Tokyo Big Sight on 28th and 30th October. Advanced booking is required for these events.
Visitors to
Sescoi’s booth E5024 in the East exhibition hall will be able to see advances in
V20, the current version of WorkNC CAD/CAM software available in Japan, and preview the upcoming
V21 version supporting
multi-threading and multi processing. The technology built into WorkNC’s machining algorithms allows several operations to be processed simultaneously, which is particularly valuable for complex 3 and 5-axis machining applications, reducing calculation times from hours to minutes.
The Version 21 will also feature
new high speed machining routines that enhance the quality, smoothness and speed of HSM and WorkNC’s automatic 5-axis CNC machining module will be even simpler to use, bringing 5-axis CNC machining well within the capability of the majority of companies deterred by the complexity of many 5-axis CAD/CAM systems.
As is traditional on Sescoi show booths around the world, a selection of stunning showcase parts machined using WorkNC CAM software will be on display.
The second productivity solution to be demonstrated on the Sescoi booth is
WorkXPlore 3D, its high speed 3D CAD Viewer that
enables collaborative working throughout an organization and its supply chain. The software can import and combine CAD data from most leading design packages. WorkXPlore 3D was recently selected by All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA)
to distribute and share design information for the maintenance of the Boeing 787
Dreamliner in Japan. ANA found that WorkXPlore 3D was intuitive and fast to operate, and that its lightweight format was ideally suited to its PC network.
Finally, Sescoi will also be demonstrating
NCspeed during the show. This software
optimizes the CNC code, adjusting feedrates to achieve the fastest machining possible. The system uses its knowledge of tool loading from a dynamic stock model, and toolpath direction changes to fine tune the CNC cutterpath. By avoiding excessive load conditions, and keeping the volume of material being cut constant, cutter deflection is minimized, tool life increased, excessive vibration and chatter eliminated, and cutter breakage avoided.
