Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd. to Implement Intergraph Process, Power & Offshore SmartPlant Foundation Software

Lifecycle Information Management System Optimizes Work Processes

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., May 27, 2003 - The Process, Power & Offshore division of
Intergraph Corporation announced today that Hyundai
Engineering Co. Ltd. has signed a contract to purchase the SmartPlant(r)
Foundation engineering lifecycle information and workflow management
software. Hyundai Engineering will use SmartPlant Foundation throughout its
process plant division to optimize and control engineering work practices
for all global projects. The implementation initially addresses specific
engineering information processes such as managing line lists, vendor data,
nozzles, equipment loading hydraulic calculations and pre-commissioning
activities. SmartPlant Foundation (ppo.intergraph.com/ppo/infomgmt) promotes
competitive advantage by managing and sharing engineering information to
streamline work processes, enable global engineering and optimize
information handover to the plant owner.

Improving Engineering and Information Handover

General Manager Engineering Division, H. S. Han, Hyundai Engineering Co.
Ltd., said, "SmartPlant Foundation addresses a number of key requirements
for Hyundai, including built-in best practices for key work processes and
overall flexibility in a proven, commercial system. The SmartPlant
Foundation implementation is aimed at better controlling engineering
processes and thus improving Hyundai Engineering's capabilities in executing
global projects. Based on current functionality, we believe this is much
more economical than developing the software internally."

Kevin Stanley, vice president, Asia Pacific business unit, Intergraph
Process, Power & Offshore, said, "Hyundai Engineering is a long time and
experienced user of Intergraph applications such as PDS, SmartPlant P&ID,
SmartPlant Review and INtools. The addition of SmartPlant Foundation to
Hyundai's software toolset is a logical extension of their successful
history with Intergraph and represents a heightened commitment to the
engineering quality of projects designed and built for customers worldwide."

SmartPlant Foundation Increases ROI of the Information Asset

SmartPlant Foundation ( www.intergraph.com/infomgmt) manages the
availability, integrity and accuracy of engineering information. It builds
an electronic library about a plant and its configuration - structure, tags,
assets and documents. It encompasses a plant's initial design and ongoing
operating upgrades and modifications, defining and driving electronic work
processes, tracking changes and managing engineering revisions. Open,
independent data storage and access manages data from both Intergraph and
third party authoring applications and protects and increases the value of
engineering information, regardless of the IT infrastructure in place. The
backbone of a common architecture that extends across all Intergraph
Process, Power & Offshore information management solutions, SmartPlant
Foundation enables collaborative engineering and the creation of the plant
information asset for strategic business advantage.
