Microdesk First To Provide Autodesk LandXplorer Infrastructure Planning Tool

NEW YORK, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- AECO industry consultant and Autodesk Premier Solutions Provider, Microdesk, Inc., is the nation's first authorized provider of Autodesk LandXplorer. With this new product offering, Microdesk can now provide designers, developers, and communities with a new state-of-the-art tool to visualize the impact of building and infrastructure projects before they are built.

Autodesk LandXplorer software integrates geospatial, civil engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), building information modeling (BIM), and utility network details to allow design firms, urban developers and cities to create compelling simulations and visualize the impact of proposed projects.

"Autodesk LandXplorer will improve the way urban developments are planned, designed and built," said Microdesk President Michael DeLacey. "This new product expands our solution offerings and allows us to deliver increased value to our clients - the designers, constructors and owners of buildings and infrastructure. And perhaps more importantly, with LandXplorer we are able to deliver value to the general public who use these facilities."

With this new tool you can fully visualize a city model in a 3-D environment. This allows the public to explore and interact with the model, enabling them to actually experience proposed city development scenarios. To date, planners have relied on costly physical models and animations to provide the same level of communication and insight but without the interactive nature of LandXplorer.

This technology will also allow city governments to better understand how their design decisions, policies and proposals will impact the urban environments they are creating. The result will be greater stakeholder collaboration, better decision-making, significantly reduced development costs, and more sustainable urban environments.

Microdesk provides visualization solutions, as well as business process, BIM, CAD, GIS and FM software and consulting to the architectural, engineering, construction, GIS, and facility operations industries. Its services also include commercial-level desktop and web-based software development for design automation, geographical information systems and building facilities management.

Microdesk is a design technology consultancy with 13 offices nationwide that provides the AECO and Manufacturing industries with premiere consulting, implementation, support, and training solutions using today's leading technology products from Autodesk, Google, Oracle, Adobe, ESRI, and Microsoft.
