New release enables the import of field intelligence into ESRI ArcGIS and improves portability of TerraGo GeoPDF files
Atlanta, GA-- TerraGo Technologies®, a leading provider of geospatial collaboration software solutions, announced today the general availability of its TerraGo Publisher for ArcGIS® version 5 software. The new solution gives customers the ability to create higher-performing, higher-quality GeoPDF® maps and images when working within an ESRI ArcGIS environment. These files can be leveraged by field/mobile workers using the TerraGo Toolbar® or TerraGo Mobile® applications for more effective intelligence gathering and spatial-based collaboration.
"A majority of our customers use ESRI's industry leading desktop GIS software to create geospatial products," said Richard McKay, VP of Worldwide Sales for TerraGo Technologies. "In this new release, we focused on making end-to-end geospatial collaboration simple and easy for ArcGIS users by giving them the power to import and view all different types of data from the field into the ArcGIS environment. In addition, we made the GeoPDF file itself smaller and faster, thus improving the usability and portability of geospatial assets at the edge of the enterprise."
In this new release, we focused on making end-to-end geospatial collaboration simple and easy for ArcGIS users by giving them the power to import and view all different types of data from the field into the ArcGIS environment. In addition, we made the GeoPDF file itself smaller and faster, thus improving the usability and portability of geospatial assets at the edge of the enterprise. Key enhancements available in the new version of TerraGo Publisher for ArcGIS include:
- Advanced geospatial collaboration: All files published out of Publisher for ArcGIS now inherently give field/mobile workers the ability to make GeoMarks, which can include comments, structured form data, stamps, lines, polygons, photographs and other types of multi-media geospatial intelligence. This data, now wrapped in the TerraGo Collaboration Package®, is highly portable and can be easily brought back into ArcGIS for better decision making by GIS analysts and field workers.
- Performance Enhancements: TerraGo has implemented new techniques to improve the performance and file size of GeoPDF files created from ArcGIS. For example, the type of PDF image and compression used varies on an image by image basis, optimizing the GeoPDF file size and image quality.
- ISO/OGC Support: Users can now create geo-referenced PDF files that adhere to the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Best Practice or the ISO 32000 emerging standard for geospatial extensions. The View feature in Publisher for ArcGIS can now be used with geo-referenced PDF files generated from ESRI or any other source that follows the ISO specifications. TerraGo has also added support for thousands of new coordinate systems.
TerraGo Publisher for ArcGIS is an enterprise software solution that gives hundreds of organizations the ability to extend the access and application of their geospatial assets.
