Connecticut Leads Nation With Statewide Rollout of Everbridge Emergency Notification System

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Aug 06, 2009 -- Everbridge (formerly 3n Global), the world's recognized leader in incident notification systems, today announced that the State of Connecticut has selected the Everbridge Aware™ emergency notification system (ENS) to help protect lives and property by providing critical information to residents during emergencies and dangerous situations.

By September 1, Connecticut will be the first in the nation to have a statewide ENS that allows officials to ensure continuity of communications across the state, spanning all municipalities, counties, cities, and towns.

"This is a major step forward for state and local governments in meeting their top responsibility: safeguarding the health and welfare of residents," Governor M. Jodi Rell said in an August 5, 2009 press release. "Whatever the situation, the emergency alert system means far more people will 'get the word' far more quickly. The more information we are able to provide people the better they will be able to prepare and respond."

The Everbridge Aware system allows emergency officials to notify some or all of the State's population about a specific situation, anywhere, anytime and on any device. The system provides powerful map-based GIS capabilities enabling users to quickly target residents in affected geographic areas, and the application cycles through each and every communication device -- including mobile phones, landlines, BlackBerry smartphones/wireless PDAs, email, SMS, and instant messaging -- in the contact path order specified by individual preference, until messages are delivered and confirmed by recipients.

"A clear leader in emergency preparedness and response, Connecticut is leading the country by implementing Everbridge for its statewide emergency notification initiatives," said Cinta Putra, Chief Executive Officer for Everbridge. "This collaborative effort between the State and its individual counties, cities and towns demonstrates Connecticut's exceptional commitment to the protection of lives and property."

Managed by the Office of Governor M. Jodi Rell and operated by agencies including the Governor's office, the state police and the Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, the implementation of the Everbridge emergency notification system is part of a comprehensive program to ensure public safety in Connecticut.
