AvMap Extends Relationship with Tele Atlas to Power Innovative GPS Solutions

GENT, Belgium & MILAN, Italy — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 14, 2009 Tele Atlas, a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location based solutions, and AvMap, a pioneer in GPS navigation, announced an extended agreement whereby AvMap will use Tele Atlas digital maps for its complete range of personal navigation devices and products. The agreement covers a three year period and marks an extension of the companies’ current partnership, which began in 2000.

AvMap specializes in business to business GPS solutions, with innovative and flexible products to meet the needs of transport companies and automobile manufacturers. AvMap satellite navigation solutions and fleet tracking systems include Geosat 6 XTV, the world’s first Sat Nav with DVB-T and DVB-H TV, GSM mobile phone, GPRS and built-in alcohol test, complete with Tele Atlas digital maps to provide a powerful end user experience.

“AvMap was the first in the industry to offer a hybrid solution, which ensures optimal positioning of the device inside the car without annoying power cables and suction cups that restrict the view while driving,” said Simone Lazzarini, AvMap CEO. “Our hybrid solutions are built-in yet portable, joining all the advantages of the in-car systems to those of the portable solutions. Through our partnership with Tele Atlas, our navigation solutions provide powerful driving experiences with the freshest maps, developed through stringent processes and enhanced with community input that adds even more value to our products and the offerings of our automotive industry partners.”

Today, AvMap has agreements with leading automobile brands to deliver integrated, customized navigation solutions, including Citroën Netherlands, Citroën Italy, Mitsubishi Brazil and Peugeot Automobili Italia and Portugal. AvMap’s innovations have garnered the company industry accolades for the AvMap Geosat 6 XTV such as selection as an Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award honoree at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2009 and as a finalist in the “Best Portable Navigation System” category of the 2009 Telematics Awards.

“The navigation industry is experiencing growth in the integrated category, and with AvMap’s growing presence in this segment, the company is well-poised to continue offering automobile manufacturers customized hybrid navigation solutions that help differentiate their vehicles,” said Filip Neirynck, Vice President of Consumer Markets, Tele Atlas. “We look forward to expanding Tele Atlas’ work with AvMap as it enhances its product offerings for both the navigation industry and the end user.”
