GTG to Present GIS Manager’s Workshop at Towson University GIS Conference

Goldsboro, N.C. - March 09, 2009 - Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) will be holding their GIS Manager’s Workshop at the Towson University GIS Conference (TUgis) on Tuesday, March 17 in Towson, Maryland. This workshop will teach attendees how to secure funding and ensure success for their GIS initiatives.

“This is an excellent course for those new coming into GIS as well as seasoned managers,” said Karen Robbins of the Village of Downers Grove, Illinois, who recently attended the workshop. “Everyone will walk away with ideas on how to improve their situation and fight for GIS in their organizations.”

The GIS Manager’s Workshop has been offered in cities nationwide and is now being held at GIS conferences throughout the country. Attendees have stated that this is one of the most valuable classes they have taken in years.

Topics covered in the workshop include Managing GIS, The Governance of GIS, The Enterprise Implementation of GIS, and The Business Case for GIS. All topics focus on local government. Attendees will learn how to build a case for their GIS and guarantee its success.

“GTG is very excited to present this workshop at TUgis this year,” said Curt Hinton, CEO of GTG and GIS Manager’s Workshop instructor. “In these troubled economic times, GIS is the tool that will help us do more with less. Its value is one that will provide organizations with a clear return on investment. That’s why we are looking forward to sharing with attendees how to assure the success of their GIS initiatives.” To attend this workshop, register for TUgis at http://tugis.towson.edu.
