GEO-9 the complete geospatial event

September 02, 2008 -- Following the successful launch of the first new exhibition, for more than 15 years, targeted at engineering, surveying, geomatics and GIS professionals, the event organisers are delighted to announce GEO-9 the complete GEO- Event. Taking place on the 1st and 2nd of April 2009 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK, GEO-9 will build on the success of GEO-8 which drew support from more than forty leading suppliers of geospatial products and services attracting more than 850 quality visitors through the doors. In addition to the well-attended trade exhibition GEO-9 will see the return of the highly popular show floor seminar programme, the renowned m3 conference and a range of social and networking events.

Feedback from visitors, conference delegates and exhibitors at the GEO-8 event was hugely encouraging with comments including ‘An excellent and well co-ordinated event’, ‘GEO-8 have got their finger bang on the money’ to simply ‘Brilliant’. This feedback has also translated into direct action with more than 25% of available stand space reserved by 2008 exhibitors. The organisers are therefore encouraging companies who wish to take part in GEO-9 to contact them quickly.

“GEO-8 exceeded all expectations,” said Stephen Booth of PV Publications, organisers of the event and publishers of Geomatics World, GIS Professional and Engineering Surveying Showcase. “Suppliers from all aspects of the geospatial industry, from those involved in measurement, mapping, processing, presentation and modelling of geospatial data through to those who use the information in sophisticated systems, was immense and this helped attract record number of visitors through the door. With plans already in place for GEO-9 we hope to build on this success.”

GEO-9 will also co-host the m3 Conference. Focusing on the 3m’s of geospatial information - measuring, modelling, managing - the conference will provide the opportunity for geospatial professionals to come together to discuss current practice, consider current and emerging technologies and to hear topical presentations from high profile business leaders, practitioners, academics and researchers.

GEO-9 will take place on the 1st and 2nd of April 2009 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry; a world-class centre for business, entertainment and sport. The Ricoh Arena offers state-of-the-art conference, banqueting, exhibition, hotel and sports facilities and the multi purpose complex has already won awards for its design. Occupying more than 40 acres close to the M6 motorway the Arena is home to Coventry City Football Club and has also attracted stars such as Brian Adams, Bon Jovi and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to the Midlands city.
