iRoC Technologies Licenses Verific Design Automation Software

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 19, 2008— iRoC Technologies Corporation, the leader of soft error solutions, today announced that it has licensed Verific Design Automation software to use with its soft error testing tools.

Space engineers knew of the phenomenon for decades, and now it applies also to ground applications, remarks Eric Dupont, iRoCs chief executive officer. Soft Errors are affecting more electronic system in advanced technologies than ever. iRoC Technologies provides design solutions and EDA tools to measure, analyze and fix the problem of soft errors in modern integrated circuits. And when iRoC needed support for Verilog RTL, we selected Verific Design Automation as our partner.

iRoC Technologies has integrated Verifics Verilog parser and register transfer level (RTL) elaborator with its soft error testing tools. Verifics tools include Verilog, SystemVerilog and VHDL parsers, analyzers and elaborators, as well as an RTL database. They serve as the front end to the most popular Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as iRoC Technologies for exploring, navigating, analyzing, documenting and modifying designs. All are written in platform-independent C++ that compiles on Solaris, HP-UX, Linux and Windows platforms. Each is licensed as source code and come with support and maintenance.

Soft error testing has become a critically important element of chip design, remarks Rob Dekker, founder and president of Verific. It gives us great pleasure to work with iRoC Technologies to support this area of design.
