FirstEnergy Selects Impress Software to Integrate SAP and Primavera

WALTHAM, Mass.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—November 27, 2007— Impress Software, a leading provider of packaged integration applications, today announced that it has been selected by FirstEnergy Corp. to integrate its Primavera P5 Project Management software for Transmission & Distribution capital projects with SAP. FirstEnergy is implementing Impress for EPM, a packaged integration application that provides best practices for bridging SAP with Primavera in order to streamline capital project processes and enhance data integrity.

FirstEnergy's seven electric utility operating companies comprise the nation's fifth largest investor-owned electric system. The company has historically used Primavera to plan and schedule routine maintenance and plant turnarounds within its generation facilities. However, the use of Primavera for Transmission and Distribution capital projects is considered a new approach within the industry. Connecting SAP and Primavera with Impress will provide an integrated picture between resource scheduling and project budgeting and charging.
