Intermap Technologies Wins MAPPS Geospatial Products and Services Excellence Award

DENVER—(BUSINESS WIRE)—August 7, 2007— Intermap Technologies Corp. has been awarded top honors in the Photogrammetry / Elevation Data Generation category at the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS) Geospatial Products and Services Excellence Awards ceremony, held on July 16 in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire.

Intermap's "Torino 2006 IFSAR Mapping Project" was conducted on behalf of the Italian mapping agency Istituto Geografico Militare (IGM) using the Company's proprietary Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (IFSAR) digital mapping technology. The project covered 5,600 square kilometers of northwestern Italy's most varied terrain, including the three most challenging environments to model: high alpine, lowland floodplain, and urban. The extreme differences in elevation - from mountain areas in the Alps to deeply incised river valleys - provided a serious test of the integrity of the radar processing systems. The acquisition geometry stressed the algorithms beyond their normal application, and the processing workflow proved to be extremely complex.

According to panel chairman, Don Evick, "The judges were very impressed with the high quality and diversity of the submissions, and the breath and depth of the expertise of the firms. All of the projects exhibited very effective and innovative use of the most state-of-the-art mapping technologies to solve important real-world problems. Many of the projects had to overcome significant logistical and scheduling challenges. The projects not only provided reliable and detailed engineering data, but had substantial economic, social, environmental, and/or political benefits as well. And, all of the projects resulted in a high level of customer satisfaction.

"In particular," continued Evick, "Intermap's Torino 2006 Mapping Project demonstrated an innovative use of their proprietary radar mapping technology to exceed customer demands, while addressing some of the most challenging and complex project requirements imaginable."

"The fact that our reliable radar mapping technology exceeded the expectations of our customer, while collecting elevation data for the most diverse and extreme conditions imaginable is testimony to both the uniformity and accuracy of our IFSAR data collection and processing methodology," states Garth Lawrence, senior vice president of operations for Intermap. "Additionally, it is a true honor that five well-respected names in the geospatial community also determined this to be so."
