For 10 years, Aslett also led the Strategic CAD Labs and was responsible for researching and delivering novel software algorithms, applications and design methodologies.

After leaving Intel, Aslett became an investor partner with Social Venture Partners of Portland, a leader in applying venture philanthropy to create social impact. Through his work with SVP, he applied his management and leadership skills to multiple nonprofit enterprises to increase their organizational capacity. For the past two years, he was a guest lecturer at Portland State University's graduate class for Engineering and Technology Management, which utilizes the book he co-authored, “A Perspective on Holistic Engineering Management.”

“Rob has a proven track record of successful leadership in the semiconductor industry, broad understanding of the EDA market and demonstrated ability to drive innovation and growth,” said Pankaj Kukkal, Si2 board chair and vice president, Global SOC Enablement Team, Qualcomm Technologies. “We are fortunate to have someone with the depth and breadth in EDA and Design as the new CEO.”
