The 58th Design Automation Conference Advance Registration is Now Open for the December Gathering

Keynote Speakers include experts from Google, NVIDIA, Stanford, and Duke Universities

SAN FRANCISCO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 8, 2021 — The Design Automation Conference (DAC) returns for its 58th year with a stellar line up of Keynotes and SKYTalks. Founded in 1964, DAC is the longest-running and largest event focused on research and technology for the design and automation of electronic circuits and systems. This year DAC, with the hybrid format both in-person and virtual, will attract attendees from academia, research, government, and industry. The conference is recognized as the event that attracts the entire system design and development ecosystem and this year will be no different. The grandeur of this event comes from the combination of a technically strong research track conference along with an exhibition of industry providers. In addition, for the first time, DAC attendees will also have access to attend the SEMICON West expo being held at Moscone South and the RISC-V Summit exhibits at Moscone West.

This year’s DAC Keynote speakers are:

  • Jeff Dean, SVP, Google Research & Google Health – The Potential of Machine Learning for Hardware Design
  • Bill Dally, Chief Scientist, NVIDIA – GPUs, Machine Learning and EDA
  • Mary 'Missy' Cummings, Professor of Computer Engineering/Director of the Humans Autonomy Laboratory, Duke University – Man vs. Machine or Man + Machine?
  • Kwabena Boahen, Professor of Bioengineering and Electrical Engineering, Stanford University – The Future of AI Hardware: A 3-D Silicon Brain

In addition to the Keynotes, DAC 2021 will host inspiring SKYTalks:

  • William Chappell, CTO, Azure Global – Cloud & AI Technologies for Faster, Secure Semiconductor Supply Chains
  • Kailash Gopalakrishnan, IBM Fellow and Sr. Manager, Accelerator Architectures and Machine Learning
  • Sam Naffziger, AMD Senior Vice President, Corporate Fellow, and Product Technology Architect - Cross-Disciplinary innovations Required for the Future of Computing

The DAC 2021 research track program had another record year in terms of submissions and we also had a record year in terms of industry focused Designer, IP, and Embedded Systems track submissions. For this year’s program the Technical Program Committee reviewed 914 submitted research manuscripts and accepted 215 for presentations and publication. In addition, 199 industry focused submissions were reviewed with 70 accepted for presentation.

DAC offers outstanding training, education, exhibits and networking opportunities for hardware and software designers, researchers, software developers, IT engineers and software tool vendors who attend. Advance registration, which offers attendees substantial discounts, is open now until November 1, 2021.

Registration for the I Love DAC free three-day pass sponsored by Cliosoft, Empyrean and Menta is open now through October 31, 2021. Check out the conference program for more information on the Research track, Designer track, IP track and other sessions at the 58th DAC.

About DAC

The Design Automation Conference (DAC) is recognized as the premier event for the design of electronic circuits and systems, and for electronic design automation (EDA) and silicon solutions. A diverse worldwide community of more than 1,000 organizations attends each year, represented by system designers and architects, logic and circuit designers, validation engineers, CAD managers, senior managers and executives as well as researchers and academicians from leading universities. Close to 60 technical sessions selected by a committee of electronic design experts offer information on recent developments and trends, management practices and new products, methodologies and technologies. A highlight of DAC is its exhibition and suite area, with approximately 200 of the leading and emerging EDA, silicon, and intellectual property (IP) companies and design services providers. The conference is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and is supported by ACM's Special Interest Group on Design.
