December 17, 2020 – The National Frame Building Association (NFBA) is now accepting entries from member companies for the 2020 Building of the Year Awards.  The application deadline is January 11, 2021.

The competition consists of two divisions, Experts and Masters, allowing builder member companies to compete against peers of comparable size, as well as the highest honor, the Judges’ Award.

The Experts division is for entries from NFBA member companies with annual gross volume of up to six million dollars in post-frame revenue. The Masters division is for entries from NFBA member companies exceeding six million dollars in annual gross volume in post-frame revenue. Both the Experts and Masters divisions share 12 award categories each:

  • Agricultural Storage/Workshops
  • Commercial Buildings (<5,000 square feet)
  • Commercial Buildings (5,000-10,000 square feet)
  • Commercial Buildings (>10,000 square feet)
  • Hobby Shops
  • Horse Barns/Facilities (<5,000 square feet)
  • Horse Barns/Facilities (>5,000 square feet)
  • Institutional Buildings
  • Livestock Facilities
  • Residential Buildings
  • Retrofitted/Remodeled Buildings
  • Suburban Garages

Only one Judges’ Award is chosen each year to showcase an exceptional building distinguished from all other submissions in both categories.

“I am thrilled for this year’s submissions,” says NFBA Chairman Matt Greiner, “With the challenges we all faced in 2020, the entries will show the resilience, fortitude, and creativity of our industry and the people in it.”

Winners of a Building of the Year Award will receive a plaque to showcase their achievement, recognition on the NFBA website and in upcoming NFBA publications and media, and a special feature at the annual Frame Building Expo on the show floor for more than 1,000 building and design professionals to view.

Member companies can submit their application at www.nfba.org/buildingoftheyear
