GEOINT 2020 Registration and Housing Now Open

Leading intelligence conference to offer countless opportunities to learn and exchange ideas

Herndon, Virginia (January 28, 2020) — The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) recently opened registration and housing for the GEOINT 2020 Symposium, taking place April 26-29, at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Fla.

The GEOINT Symposium, hosted annually by USGIF, is the preeminent event of the year for the defense, intelligence, and homeland security communities and other users and producers of geospatial information. Attendees experience a stimulating agenda of keynote speakers, panel discussions, and breakout tracks that create a unique opportunity to learn from senior leaders and subject matter experts.

“USGIF is excited to be returning to Tampa in 2020 and provide the GEOINT Community phenomenal content, unparalleled networking, and professional and educational development opportunities,” said Ronda Schrenk, vice president of programs at USGIF.

The GEOINT 2020 theme is “New Decade, New Challenge, New Strategies.” “This year’s theme celebrates the arrival of the new decade and the evolution of our nascent tradecraft. As we enter a new decade, it is essential to discuss the new challenges we face and the strategies to achieve mission success, “ said Schrenk. “The GEOINT 2020 agenda includes the major drivers and innovators who will help our community thrive in the new decade.”

USGIF has confirmed VADM Robert Sharp, director, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency; The Honorable Dr. Christopher Scolese, director, National Reconnaissance Office; and Lt. Gen. John N.T. “Jack” Shanahan, director, Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, Office of the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer, Pentagon, as keynote speakers. The Honorable Susan M. Gordan and Letitia A. Long will be the masters of ceremonies on the main stage.

The GEOINT 2020 agenda will also include the final round of the USGIF and the Open Geospatial Consortium’s Innovative Tradecraft Competition, a competition for organizations to demonstrate best practices in data discovery and addressing mission problems. The top four finalists chosen from the first round in February will give their five-minute presentations on the GEOINT 2020 main stage, and the audience will vote for the grand prize winner live.

The conference also offers a pre-symposium science and technology day, taking place Sunday, April 26, called GEOINT Foreword. Based on this year’s theme, attendees will hear from government, industry, and academia as they unravel new strategies and challenges the community faces in the new decade. Please note GEOINT Foreword requires separate registration.

GEOINT 2020 features an extensive exhibit hall with more than 200 organizations showcasing their technologies, solutions, and services. Exhibit and sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Attendees will benefit from 50+ hours of dedicated professional development, training, and education sessions from Monday, April 27 to Wednesday, April 29. During these two-hour sessions, GEOINT subject matter experts teach participants new concepts in topics such as the Internet of Things, invisible radio frequency data, quantum computing, artificial intelligence integration, and raster analysis. Training sessions can be added and are not included in the Symposium Pass registration.

In addition to these many events and activities, GEOINT 2020 also features continual networking opportunities throughout the week to make new business contacts and reconnect with colleagues.
