Shanghai, China—Oct. 16, 2019 — Brite Semiconductor (“Brite”), a world-leading ASIC design solution provider headquartered in Shanghai today announced that two chips with RF & PLC communication for smart meter using Brite’s SoC design solutions and SMIC’s 40nm & 0.13um process has begun mass production.
The chip design combines RF mesh and PLC communications on the same chip set. Multiply transmission interface IPs are integrated to support industrial level wire and wireless connection, such as PLC, IEEE 802.15.4g and WiFi which can bring intelligent and connection to smart water, electricity and gas meters. With adaptive communication capabilities, deployment of network infrastructure is easier, faster and less costly.
"The commercial production of the smart meter chips have marked a meaningful breakthrough and milestone in Brite’s industrial SoC design and in the smart meter industry," Dr. John Zhuang, CEO of Brite said. "We will ship more than 3 million units this year. The success of the chips demonstrate Brite's commitment to bringing our customers first-rate solutions and support with more reliability, stability and cost-effectiveness."
