Former industry rivals join forces to bring disruption to another chip segment
Cambridge, UK, 10 September 2019: Agile Analog, a Cambridge based Analog IP company, today announced the appointment of Sir Hossein Yassaie as Non-Executive Director to their Board of Directors.
Agile Analog is transforming the Analog IP market through automation of the design and delivery of Analog IP for microchips. Analog IP connects the real world to the ubiquitous digital world and is needed on practically all modern microchips. Using its novel AI-driven approach, Agile Analog has automated the traditionally manual design process and is creating Analog IP that is more customisable, more reliable and available on any semiconductor process. The availability of high-quality Analog IP will enable Agile Analog’s customers to integrate more functionality on chip and bring innovative solutions to market faster.
Agile Analog is changing the status quo by addressing the long-standing inefficiencies in creating and delivering analog circuits across process technologies. The revolutionary automated approach leads to efficient and timely availability of much-needed high-quality, reliable and easy-to-use analog IP. There is no doubt in my mind that Agile Analog is set to disrupt the semiconductor industry,” said Sir Hossein. “I’m thrilled to be joining such a distinguished team, and I am looking forward to helping drive Agile Analog's rapid growth and bring their Analog IP products to the global semiconductor market.”
A well-recognised figure in the technology world, Sir Hossein Yassaie is also an entrepreneur with a strong belief in technological innovation and disruptions that can solve real problems, disrupt markets and improve everyday life. Throughout his career, Sir Hossein Yassaie has made several contributions that led to industry-changing advancements in key technologies including digital TV and radio, PC and game consoles, automotive, computing and, most notably, mobile devices and smart phones. He was founder and CEO of Imagination Technologies Plc until 2016, where he created a semiconductor IP business powering billions of devices. He was also behind the iconic consumer brand Pure. He now has a number of non-executives, chairmanships, directorships and investments in numerous disruptive global tech companies.
“We are proud to have Sir Hossein Yassaie on our team, he brings a wealth of experience and an unrivalled industry network to Agile Analog” said Tim Ramsdale, CEO, “As we launch more customisable Analog IP products and extend our global footprint, Sir Hossein couldn’t have joined us at a better time.”
“As former competitors go Sir Hossein was both tough and creative, so I’m looking forward to working with him at Agile Analog,” said Pete Hutton, Chairman of Agile Analog and former Arm President of Product Groups, “Sir Hossein Yassaie will be instrumental to Agile Analog’s growth as we develop more Analog IP products that are customisable, robust and reliable – helping our customers bring innovative chips to market faster.”
Agile Analog, who recently announced an Innovate UK grant as well as the closure of a $5M pre-A funding round with Delin Ventures, firstminute Capital and MMC Ventures, will be launching more high-quality Analog IP products over the coming months, enabling our customers to easily integrate more functionality on chip.
