EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – June 19, 2018 AWR/NI announcement:
To achieve the aggressive goals of 5G communications, a number of innovations are being investigated, including improvements in over-the-air (OTA) efficiency through the expansion of multiple-in-multiple-out (MIMO) and beam-steering antenna technologies.
A new 5G primer provides engineers, managers and system integrators with background information on the technology enabling this next-generation communication system. The primer also features the capabilities within the NI AWR Design Environment platform for designing advanced MIMO and phased-array antennas to meet complex 5G requirements. Examples of MIMO and phased-array system design, MIMO and beam-steering modeling, phased-array element design and multi-beam support are presented that feature the use of Visual System Simulator™ (VSS) system simulation software, as well as co-simulation with Microwave Office circuit design software and AXIEM 3D planar and Analyst™ 3D finite element method (FEM) electromagnetic (EM) simulators.
Where: The NI AWR Design Environment 5G Primer for MIMO/Phased Array Antennas can be accessed through the NI AWR software resource library at http://awrcorp.com/resource-library/5g-primer-mimophased-array-antennas.
When: Immediately.
