DWS Brings Additive Manufacturing 4.0 to CES 2018

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 4, 2018 — (PRNewswire) — DWS, the trusted stereolithography pioneer and leader that is making additive manufacturing 4.0 real for everyone, announced today that it will showcase its expanded range of professional-grade 3D printers and materials, including its first-ever fully automated high-speed stereolithography manufacturing cell at CES 2018 in Las Vegas, NV, January 8-12. Interested customers, qualified resellers and strategic partners are invited to experience how DWS's technology is rapidly changing additive manufacturing at booth #8108 in the 3D Printing Marketplace at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"With its expanded automotive and 3D printing focus, CES 2018 is the best venue for us to showcase our most advanced professional additive manufacturing systems," said DWS general manager Maurizio Costabeber. "For over two decades, we have been pioneering and disrupting segments of the additive manufacturing industry with our innovative stereolithography systems and materials. We are taking bold steps to make additive manufacturing 4.0 real and affordable to automotive, aerospace and durable goods users through our groundbreaking new products and our geographic expansion into North America."

The company plans to showcase its groundbreaking XCELL 3D systems, the first-ever fully automated high-speed manufacturing cell that quickly delivers a seamless push-button solution from file to part. The revolutionary XCELL takes DWS's legendary print quality to a new level by using a new patented Tilted Stereolithography (TSLA) printing process to deliver outstanding speed, precision, and post-processing integration within a single manufacturing cell. The XCELL automated 3D printer can print direct casting molds, and ready-to-use parts using DWS's tailored polymers at standard manufacturing tolerances as well as at the most demanding dental and jewelry resolution. The integrated all-in-one solution delivers greater print speed and eliminates labor associated with washing and curing.

The company is also showcasing its expanded professional-grade desktop offerings with several new models. In a direct response to customer requests, DWS is leveraging its successful professional-grade XFAB desktop 3D printer to introduce three new models: XFAB 2000, XFAB 2500 and XFAB 3500. The expanded XFAB family is based on DWS's award winning XFAB desktop platform. It is equipped with the proprietary integrated materials and vat management, and the new generation of BluEdge laser.

Finally, the company unveiled the XPRO S, a new industrial-grade large-format 3D printer. This new system is one of the most powerful and affordable large-format 3D printers on the market today. Starting at $110,000, the XPRO S delivers the most cost-effective precision parts using the best of DWS's purpose-made materials at a convincing scale. XPRO S shares DWS's large-format industrial-grade platform, its top of the line O30X quad-laser system, and boasts a print platform of 300 x 300 x 300mm. The system is ideal for printing life size models, functional prototypes and automotive parts. The printer boasts high resolution and precision, and comes with a wide-range of materials including digital ABS-like, polypropylene-like and rubber-like, nano-ceramics fillers added, investment casting and silicone molding. With low-running costs and zero planned maintenance costs, the printer is designed to operate 24 hours a day to ensure maximum reliability.

Ahead of CES 2018, DWS expanded its coverage into North America with the opening of its Customer Experience Center in California, located at XponentialWorks. The expert additive manufacturing advisory and venture was founded by Avi Reichental, an experienced additive manufacturing leader. With this move, DWS plans to leverage XponentialWorks' deep expertise, strong presence and access, and immediately expand its reseller network.

As part of this expansion, DWS invested in a state-of-the-art facility, and is ready to immediately provide local sales and marketing coverage throughout North America. Armed with the most comprehensive portfolio of professional-grade stereolithography systems and materials, the company is set to attract some of the most qualified professional resellers in the U.S. who are likely to find the DWS portfolio compelling both in terms of overall system performance and total cost of ownership.

"North America is one of the most important additive manufacturing markets," said Costabeber. "After decades of pioneering the additive manufacturing industry with our innovative stereolithography systems and materials, we are enthusiastic about bringing our latest products and services to this important marketplace."
