Eta Compute’s David Baker, Ph.D. To Present On Low-Power IP For The Internet of Things At Arm TechCon October 25

Dr. Baker will introduce a solar-powered asynchronous Arm Cortex-M3 microcontroller and demonstrate a small wireless sensor board operating on a 1 in-squared solar cell.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., October 3, 2017 –  Eta Compute Inc., the company that removes power as an obstacle for the infinite Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that David Baker, Ph.D. and Fellow at Eta Compute will present at Arm TechCon this month. Dr. Baker’s session is titled, “Introducing a Solar-Powered Asynchronous Arm Cortex-M3 Microcontroller.” As part of the presentation, he will demonstrate a small wireless sensor board that can operate perpetually on a small 1 in-squared solar cell. His presentation takes place on October 25, at 3:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

“Eta Compute’s nanowatt EtaCore™ is an Asynchronous MCU that is 100% cycle compliant and code compatible with the Arm® Cortex®-M3 core,” said Paul Washkewicz, vice president and co-founder of Eta Compute. “Together, SoCs with Eta Compute’s IP can significantly extend battery life or be powered with energy harvesting circuits supplying microwatts.”

David Baker is responsible for developing asynchronous processors, standard logic, and energy constrained applications. Prior to Eta Compute, Dr. Baker was director of software and systems at Ambiq Micro developing low-power Arm Cortex-M microcontrollers and supporting circuits. Dr. Baker holds more than 40 patents.

About Eta Compute

Eta Compute was founded in 2015 specifically to bring a revolutionary reduction in power consumption to microcontrollers and SoCs used in energy – constrained sensors and devices for IoT. Its initial solutions are revolutionizing low power consumption for IoT by delivering the world’s lowest power analog and digital IP, CPU cores and SoC designs that improve power efficiency by a factor of 10 without compromising functionality or performance. The company was started by industry veterans Gopal Raghavan, Ph.D., Tim Semones, both co-founders of Inphi Corporation and Paul Washkewicz an early executive of Inphi. Their new company is comprised of a team of the world’s leading CPU and SoC architects, analog and digital designers and tool developers.

Eta Compute offers a variety of licensing models designed to meet the unique needs of each customer and the company’s turnkey consulting and design services result in leading-edge technology solutions that exceed customer expectations for low-power, performance and value.
