LAS VEGAS, APRIL 4, 2017 - For the third consecutive year, Acoustigreen, a leading manufacturer of innovative acoustical wall and ceiling systems, was presented with an award from the Ceilings & Interior Systems Construction Association (CISCA). This year, Acoustigreen's work on the Bloomfield Hills High School (BHHS) auditorium in Michigan was awarded a Gold Award in the "smaller than 50,000-square-feet Education" category in the Central United States.
BHHS - a new high school auditorium - had a complex set of design criteria and a very tight delivery schedule for the components that comprise the inner "skin" of the acoustically-critical space. The acoustical design, installed by Commercial Contracting Corporation (CCC), called for "saw-tooth"-shaped side walls and multi-angled ceiling clouds. Installed inside the auditorium is 36,000-square-feet of Acoustigreen's Fusion Ceiling and Wall panels. The walls are covered with Fusion Perforated Wall Panels in Maple with a Z-Clip/Z-Bar mounting system. The balcony face and proscenium were covered with Fusion Perforated Wall Panels in Walnut with the same Z-Clip/Z-Bar mounting system. Four Fusion Perforated Panel clouds in Maple hang from the ceiling, effectively covering the catwalk while providing acoustic diffusion throughout the space.
"We are excited that we have won a CISCA award for the third consecutive year," says Mark Klein, Sr. Project Manager for Acoustigreen. "At Acoustigreen, we are always looking to provide our customers with top-notch service and the ability to customize our products to suit their needs. The BHHS auditorium called for a bit of out-of-the-box thinking on both our and CCC's part, and the result is an acoustically-balanced, aesthetically pleasing space. We are humbled to have been chosen as a winner for this year's Gold Award."
Acoustigreen's Fusion Ceiling and Wall Panels feature wood veneer and are available in flat panels or with a variety of perforation options. Standard perforations are available in 4-, 6- and 8-mm diameter holes spaced 16- or 32-mm on center in both square and diamond patterns. Custom diameter, spacing and patterns are available, as well as slotted designs. For projects requiring sound absorption, acoustical backer may be installed above Fusion ceiling or behind Fusion wall panels.
