Dec 19, 2016 -- Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, was recently awarded a three-year, all hazards preparedness, planning, consulting, and recovery services contract through the HGACBuy cooperative purchasing program.
Services will be provided in the areas of homeland security, disaster preparedness and recovery, emergency response and all hazards planning, as well as continuity of operations and recovery services. Also included are services related to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) programs, policies, and recovery activities.
Contracts are awarded by the Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC), a regional council of governments overseen by a board of 36 elected officials. All contracts awarded by HGAC have gone through a competitive bid or request for proposal process in accordance with government purchasing statutes. Dewberry is one of 31 firms awarded this particular contract, and among the 750 HGACBuy-qualified contractors.
There are nearly 7,500 members currently utilizing this service. Government entities throughout the nation are eligible to become HGACBuy End Users, saving them time and money through this expedited procurement process.
