Mar 23, 2016 -- The Esri Collector for ArcGIS app on your mobile device gives you the ability to gather and update data in the field and then quickly share the information with the rest of your organization.
To familiarize you with the app, Esri will host a free live training seminar, Modernize Your Field Workflows Using Collector for ArcGIS, on March 31, 2016.
The Collector for ArcGIS app, included with an ArcGIS Online organizational subscription or Portal for ArcGIS, gives you smart data collection and management capabilities in your field inspection workflows. The app is available for iOS, Android, and Windows 10 devices.
The seminar presenters will show you how the app reduces data collection and management errors, increases productivity, and improves data quality by replacing paper-based workflows with maps that feature intelligent, data-driven forms. They also will show you how to equip fieldworkers with easy-to-use maps that run on smartphones or tablets. You will see how the maps are used to collect data in the field with accuracy, even when Wi-Fi or cellular service is unavailable. You'll also find out how to share data updates when the device is connected.
After viewing the seminar, you will understand how to
· Configure a map that can be used for collecting data in the field, either online or offline.
· Share that map.
· Synchronize edits so that others can see the latest data and monitor conditions in the field.
· Deploy and use Collector for ArcGIS, online or offline.
You will also learn about upcoming releases of Collector for ArcGIS and other ArcGIS apps.
Geographic information system (GIS), data, and field operations managers; analysts; service technicians; first responders; researchers; and others who often collect data in the field will find this live training seminar useful.
You will need a broadband Internet connection and an Esri Account to watch the live training seminar. Creating an Esri Account is easy and free: visit esri.com/lts, click Login at the top right, and register your name and email address.
