OSCC Issues Software Assessment Survey

Asks AEC Professionals What Software They Use for Off-Site Construction Projects

The National Institute of Building Sciences Off-Site Construction Council (OSCC) is conducting a survey of architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) professionals to assess the role of software in delivering off-site constructed projects.

In 2014, OSCC issued a survey to see how industry professionals are using off-site construction methods in their firms. Of the more than 300 respondents, most respondents (93%) indicated they had utilized off-site fabricated components to some degree over the past 12 months, while 83% expected to utilize off-site construction more often or the same amount in the next 12 months. This latest survey on software use will build on the knowledge obtained from that initial survey.

Off-site construction is characterized by an integrated planning and supply chain optimization strategy. The OSCC is interested in understanding which software tools industry participants are currently using to achieve this optimization strategy.

The OSCC will compile the responses into a report, which will be distributed to the industry at a later date, as well as to inform development of an Off-Site Construction Implementation Guide.

The survey closes Friday, August 7 at 5:00 pm EDT. Take the software survey now.
