GDC 2015: Autodesk Spotlights New Tools and Leading Developers

Feb 20, 2015 -- As Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2015 draws near, Autodesk is gearing up to unveil the latest updates to the award-winning game creation tools, including an exclusive technology preview. Throughout the show, Autodesk will also highlight developers behind some of 2014’s most popular AAA and indie titles with customer presentations and a gaming-themed Design Night featuring guest speakers, a pop-up arcade, 3D-printed swag and more.

In the Moscone Convention Center, West Hall, Rm. 3003, Autodesk customers from AAA and indie markets will take to the stage to talk about the tools and techniques they use everyday to create great games. Blending Cinematic and Gameplay Animation in “The Order: 1886”

See how the team behind third-person shooter “The Order: 1886” re-thought traditional animation systems and developed new approaches to blend motions in believable ways.Animators Adam Byrne and Daniel Sipes illustrate how they used advanced engine technology to render all of the cinematics in real-time for the game.

Making Games, Building Community, Being Indie

A panel of indie game makers from Cupcakes & Critters, Modern Dream and Barking Mouse Studios share their secrets to success in this panel about building and maintaining ties to the indie community.

GDC-Themed Design Night
On Thursday, March 5, from 6:00pm-10:00pm Autodesk will transform its Gallery into a gamin haven, as it continues its recurring Design Night event series. In honor of GDC, this month’s soiree will feature exhibits, speakers and hands-on activities related to game design. It will take place at the Autodesk Gallery on One Market St., second floor, and general admission includes access to food, open bar, presentations, exhibits and activities.
