Delcam is pleased to announce that Pete Baxter has been appointed to lead Delcam in the new role of Vice President. Pete joins Delcam from its parent company, Autodesk, Inc, where he was a Vice President of Sales and served as the country manager for Autodesk in the United Kingdom.

Delcam has released the 2015 R2 version of its PowerMILL CAM software for five-axis and high-speed machining. The new release includes improvements in toolpath simulation and verification, area clearance and drilling, plus more options for customisation by users.

Vortex milling calculator in FeatureCAM |
|
The 2015 R2 release of FeatureCAM incorporates a milling calculator to help users obtain the maximum benefit from the Vortex high-efficiency area-clearance strategy. Other enhancements include the ability to create multi-tool blocks within machine designs, better control over toolpath output and more efficient automatic selection of tools.

New entry-level artistic CADCAM |
|
More powerful tools for the editing of vectors have been added to the ArtCAM Express program and the software has been made capable of creating more complex 3D designs. The price of this entry-level version of the ArtCAM artistic CADCAM system remains at US$149, £99 or 125 Euros.

Five students in mechanical engineering from Aalborg University’s Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering have received top marks for their BSc project. The students developed a prototype of a robot-based milling solution, built on PowerMILL Robot, for a concrete company.
