ClioSoft Announces Design Reuse Contest

Drawing every week for four weeks in December

FREMONT, Calif., Nov 21, 2014 – Just in time for the holiday season, ClioSoft Inc., a leader in hardware configuration management solutions for the semiconductor design industry, is holding a contest--with drawings once a week until December 23rd--for some great prizes. To enter into the drawings, engineers and managers are asked to submit about 200 words on what needs to be done to make design reuse work effectively.

What:

Time-to-market and resource management pressures have resulted in more and more use of IP in analog, mixed-signal and digital designs, a trend that will only continue to grow. For both reuse of  third-party IP or internally-developed IP, the process of finding, communicating about, evaluating, paying for, using and testing IP needs to be streamlined if we are to take advantage of what has already been designed and implemented.

What would motivate designers to create and share more IPs? What key features should an IP management system have to deal with the requirements of the IP ecosystem needed to develop the SoCs of tomorrow? Contestants are asked to tell ClioSoft what problems they have run into or heard about, or what problems they anticipate.

By submitting 200 words or less on what they think will make design reuse work successfully within a company, entrants will be automatically entered into weekly drawings for a prize -- a GoPro® camera, a Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch, a Bose® Bluetooth® speaker, and a Samsung Galaxy 7 Tab®. In addition, to motivate early entries, the first 25 valid entries will win a $25 Amazon gift card

When:

Drawings will be held on December 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd. Early submissions will be entered into all remaining drawings and stand a greater chance of winning. Winners will be notified within two weeks.
