HP’s Entry into 3D Printing Signals Mainstream Acceptance, Gives Momentum to CHGT’s Upcoming 3D On-Demand Retail Portal

HOUSTON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 3, 2014Changing Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: CHGT) CEO Omar T. Durham says the recent announcement about technology giant Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) spinning off a 3D printing company signals mainstream acceptance of the cutting-edge technology and provides momentum for CHGT’s upcoming online retail portal that will provide consumers a state-of-the-art platform where they can order and purchase 3D printed items.

“Thanks to HP’s massive global reach we now have a giant spotlight on the 3D printing industry, which is good news for the rest of us already in the space, and the arrival of a major technology company means mainstream acceptance by consumers, which positively affects CHGT and our 3-D on-demand retail portal currently in development,” Durham said.

CHGT is developing a unique on-demand, interactive retail 3D printing experience to capitalize on the continuous influx of new consumers to the market. The portal, being developed by interactive software developer Advarion Incorporated for CHGT subsidiary 6th Dimension Technologies (6D3D), will give users the ability to search its database for printable 3D models and purchase them from the site. It will also offer original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement-part manufacturing, as well as licensing opportunities for game and animation developers.

Hewlett-Packard announced it would split its business into two, separating its cloud computing and data storage services (now Hewlett-Packard Enterprise) from HP Inc., which will focus solely on 3D printing and other printing and PC services.

“Hewlett-Packard had more than $112 billion in revenues last year, so their entry into the 3D printing sector accelerates the already growing visibility for a market projected to grow 500 percent over the next five years. Come on in HP, the water’s fine.”
