Noosa Shire Council Gets Location Intelligent with Pitney Bowes

Jun 4, 2014 -- Pitney Bowes today announced that Noosa Shire Council in Queensland, Australia has chosen MapInfo as their GIS platform. The enterprise solution enables fast, optimised decisions to be made in areas including planning, environment, recreation, emergencies and much more.

The council expects to see a reduction in operating costs and improved customer service through the use of a cloud-based deployment on its chosen managed infrastructure and Pitney Bowes’ cloud-based community mapping solution, MapInfo Stratus. This service will provide Noosa’s community with 24/7 access to important services data from Council anywhere, any time.

Brett de Chastel, Chief Executive Officer at Noosa Shire Council says, “The Pitney Bowes MapInfo solution will allow us to make better decisions more quickly across the organisation because essential information is now at the fingertips of every staff member.

“We are also empowering our local community and visitors with a large array of map based information online. At present our public-facing mapping system facilitates access to the Noosa Plan, the location of public services, transportation network and critical utility services.

“This is an extremely exciting opportunity for us to better engage with our  local and visiting communities and we intend to continue to expand our portfolio of relevant Location Intelligence information for public ’self-serve’ access.”
