Theorem Multi-CAD CADverter Release for JT

How to optimise the collaborative design process using JT in a multi CAD environment.

JT users will undoubtedly be familiar with the challenges of successfully collaborating with team members using different design systems.  Success depends on a seamless two-way exchange of data and a requirement to conform to company PLM procedures and engineering best practices.  The two way exchange of information has been an issue for the CAD user since the earliest beginnings.  Although JT has emerged as an international standard for visualisation and collaboration we still operate in a multi CAD supply chain and work alongside designers and engineers using some very powerful but incompatible systems.

V5 and V6 users are receiving information from a variety of sources daily.  Occasionally the data can be pulled directly into the model assembly, sometimes not.  V5 and V6 users are encouraged to optimise their collaborative efforts to increase productivity but yet have to open up viewing software to view files or run out-dated manual conversion processes.  There is however an alternative; CATIA V5 and V6 Multi-CAD CADverters for JT.

Multi-CAD CADverter has been quietly streamlining the collaborative design process.

Multi-CAD has been developed specifically for V5 and V6 users by Theorem Solutions.  It improves the process of associative design collaboration between users of JT and other leading CAD systems by pulling the JT file directly into CATIA V5 and V6.  Multi-CAD enables and empowers the development of components and assemblies whilst tracking changes and updating the master model as each sub-assembly is developed. The process and the interdependency of the files are completely associative.

Multi-CAD is a collaborative plugin powered by a series of proven products that helps the CATIA design engineer by pulling in and pushing out associative JT, files from inside the native CATIA interface. This simple plugin allows the CATIA user to work on the files and then output the changes in any of those formats.

The Multi-CAD application system has integrated functionality including associativity between users of different systems and a geometric checking and validation process to ensure the integrity of the data is preserved when brought into the system and exported. This level of associativity pushes the collaborative possibilities further than ever before.  Design changes in non CATIA formats maintain their associativity inside V5 or V6 and alerts the user each time a part is updated or saved to the PLM system.  Cross platform collaboration has now become a lot easier to manage and will surely be the way forward for all high end projects where JT users and users of other CAD systems need to speak to each other seamlessly.

Supporting all types of JT data, Theorem Solutions’ CATIA V5 and V6 Multi-CAD CADverters for JT will handle tessellated and precise data as well as PMI information.  It can be run on the fly from within the V5 or V6 interface or batch processed for improved efficiency with large volumes of data for tighter integration and closer associativity.
