ISSI Announces Sampling of 8Gb DDR3 and DDR3L SDRAM

Targeted for Communications Applications

MILPITAS, Calif., May 28, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —  Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISSI), a leader in advanced memory solutions, today announced it has begun sampling production units of its new 8-gigabit (8Gb) DDR3 and DDR3L SDRAMs. The 8Gb DDR3 device is the IS43TR16512A, which operates at 1.5V, and the IS43TR16512AL, which operates at 1.35V. Both are organized as 512Mx16 and packaged in a 96-ball BGA. This adds to the DDR3 SDRAM product family, and ISSI's extensive selection of DRAMs. By using advanced technology, ISSI is able to provide the long lifecycle product support as required by customer applications in advanced communications.

"Today, DDR3 is present in all communication systems: base stations, optical transport, routers and switches.  ISSI's 8Gb product offering will be important for our customers who design high-end communications and networking systems," said Anand Bagchi, director of strategic marketing for communications. "The high density of this product helps the efficiency in packet buffering and storing large tables, and in the process, reduces the number of discrete components required in the networking line card. Customers are able to realize the benefits of improved power, signal integrity and routability."

These new 8Gb DDR3 and DDR3L devices also have applications in automotive, industrial and medical systems. In addition, ISSI offers a broad line of SDR, mobile SDR/DDR, DDR, DDR2, and DDR3 products, as well as a comprehensive line of asynchronous and synchronous SRAMs with densities from 64Kb to 72Mb, flash memory products, and analog & mixed signal products. And ISSI supports a range of Known Good Die (KGD) devices in its portfolio.
