May 14, 2014 -- More than 500 geospatial experts will flock to the iconic Adelaide Oval this October to take part in what has become the region’s biggest spatial technology event – Ozri 2014.
With a theme of ‘Pure GIS’, Ozri will celebrate Australian spatial industry ingenuity – exploring the amazing, inspirational and transformative innovations created by GIS professionals.
As Esri Australia’s annual user conference, the event is an opportunity for industry leaders to gather, collaborate and share their knowledge of intelligent mapping solutions and spatial technology advancements.
Ozri 2014 Technical Director John Hasthorpe said this year’s conference would include more than 40 presentations from leading government agencies, councils, and commercial organisations – covering some of the most compelling GIS case studies to date.
“Ozri’s ‘Pure GIS’ focus is a celebration of the achievements of the geospatial professionals who power this constantly evolving industry,” Mr Hasthorpe said.
“We’ll be hearing from users from organisations across the country, who every day draw on an incredible depth of GIS knowledge to push the boundaries of data analysis.
“We’ll also be welcoming some of the world’s biggest GIS industry names to share their insights on ‘where to next’ for GIS.
“These experts are literally at the front-line of technology development, and will provide attendees with their first insight into the highly anticipated release of ArcGIS 10.3 – which includes ArcGIS Professional and the ArcGIS Web App Builder.”
A new addition to the Ozri 2014 program is the inaugural ‘Great Debate’, where industry heavyweights will go head-to-head to discuss key spatial industry issues.
Mr Hasthorpe said Ozri’s famous social program also had some surprises in store for guests.
“This year our GIS rockstars will be lining up against Australian rock royalty, with attendees to be entertained by one of the biggest stars in Australian recording history.
“Mark Seymour – former Hunters and Collectors front man – will be joined by his band The Undertow to provide a special Ozri concert at the Gala Dinner.
“It’s an opportunity not to be missed.”
